Merchant Account Setup
Setting up your account to use the merchant backend features of ByteConnect including access to its API.
Step One: ByteWallet
To create a merchant account simply download our ByteWallet. Follow the in-app user registration process. ByteWallet replaces the need for an Authenticator app, insecure emails and passwords. It also comes with a powerful crypto wallet including Bitcoin Lightning support and, depending on jurisdiction, personal and business banking1 built right in.
Step Two: Merchant Registration
To finalize the onboarding and activate your merchant account, go to wallet.bytefederal.com. Webwallet is the mobile app's companion website and features rich analytics dashboards. It's here that you set your store and merchant details. Sign in with your ByteWallet in a safe and biometrically secure way, just scan the QR code on the wallet.bytefederal.com/web/login page to log in securely:
Once logged into the web wallet which functions as your merchant back-end finalize your merchant registration:
If you intend to use the ByteConnect API, head over to the API section and enable API access:
The username and password are used to generate an access token.

Go to webwallet's login page and using your ByteWallet mobile app securely...
...log in using the biometrically secured "Fast Login" button in ByteWallet.
Lookup the "Merchant" section in webwallet and click on it ...
...walk through the merchant registration process by filling out the form
...selecting name and address of your business...
...including a logo. Hit submit and your merchant account is registered!
